[03:02]<@BC_Programming> http://www.computerhope.com/forum/index.php/topic,137796.0.html
[03:02]<@BC_Programming> MEEEOW!
[03:20]<PCdoc> BC_Programming: wld have njoyed if patio wouldnt have closed topic
[03:20]<PCdoc> he is normally in utmost hurry to close topics
[03:20]<@BC_Programming> yeah I could have continued to point out fallacies without actually responding in kind
[03:21]<@BC_Programming> probably something like "I don't blow on the keys to type, I prepare my own food, I don't wear glasses, and I've never played WoW in my life. (How would you break glasses while playing a game anyway?) 0/4 and it doesn't make sense. I mean at least have the decency to compare your victim with the putrid entrails of some exotic animal, that's just common courtesy. "
[03:22]<@BC_Programming> But Patio went and locked it before BC's funhouse could start, oh well
[03:23]<PCdoc> arnt u mod there ?
[03:23]<@BC_Programming> no
[03:24]<PCdoc> may b they are afraid u may re-open closed topics :P
[03:24]<@BC_Programming> dunno, probably not
[03:25]<@BC_Programming> I'd say that "they don't need moderators" but Calum was re-offered the position he had when he started posting again so don't know
[03:27]<PCdoc> it seems lostcoast has some problem with indians / asians ..
[03:27]<PCdoc> he thinks all asians / indians are amongst the terrorised groups. such a low life thinking
[03:28]<@BC_Programming> terrorised=terrorist?
[03:28]<PCdoc> yeah sorry
[03:28]<@BC_Programming> yeah just making sure I understood
[03:28]<@BC_Programming> that's actually a pretty common perspective, sadly
[03:29]<PCdoc> it was like in 2005 or something when lostcoast kicked me because he came to know m indian
[03:29]<PCdoc> and banned me
[03:29]<PCdoc> i made PM to nathan and he made sure I am unbanned ..
[03:30]<@BC_Programming> The amount of ignorance in some parts of the United States is pretty amazing, people seem to think that "turban=Muslim=Terrorist" type stuff
[03:30]<PCdoc> since then lostcoast was trying good to me, making sure he dont get hurt because of racism
[03:30]<PCdoc> but m not muslim ..
[03:30]<@BC_Programming> I know
[03:31]<@BC_Programming> even if you were- that wouldn't mean jumping to a conclusion
[03:31]<PCdoc> with lostcoast, everytime when he never had an answer to a question, he would ask the guest "is your windows genuine??" to hide his incomplete knowledge
[03:32]<@BC_Programming> If I had to guess, I think it's because many people in Western nations have a Huge superiority complex about their country
[03:33]<PCdoc> guitar_man was also hop, but he behaved badly with me, i complained to nathan, and he removed his op rights
[03:33]<PCdoc> he was mis-using his powers ..
[03:33]<@BC_Programming> they all mis-use their powers
[03:34]<@BC_Programming> if they joined here you know what I would do? Absolutely nothing
[03:34]<PCdoc> if u know, he had some primium account on driver scanner website..
[03:34]<@BC_Programming> yeah
[03:34]<@BC_Programming> IMO guitar_man is a dumbass
[03:35]<PCdoc> for that particular reason he was popular and was always called on the chat, if someone had driver problems
[03:35]<@BC_Programming> Driver scanner software is a load of crap
[03:35]<@BC_Programming> They also reccomend registry cleaners, I had a massive go at LostCoast on the forum once about that
[03:35]<@BC_Programming> COMPLETELY destroyed his arguments
[03:36]<PCdoc> the website he had that account, changed some rules or something because of which he got a lil dipressed thinking now on the CH channel his time is over .. or his importance is over
[03:36]<@BC_Programming> he's banned from the forum lol
[03:37]<@BC_Programming> of course in his mind that means it's a "terrible place"... I say it's better without him running around
[03:37]<PCdoc> that day he said over something i dont rememember properly, he warned me he will ban me from the channel, if i dont listen to him. What he was arguing upon was totally baseless. and he also kicked me for when I denied his warnings
[03:37]<@BC_Programming> They do that all the time, probably the thing I hate the most
[03:38]<@BC_Programming> Being able to kick or ban people doesn't mean you are correct!
[03:38]<PCdoc> and i complained nathan about it, he asked me for the chat log, i gave him, nathan himself checked his logs, talked to guitar_man and what i complained about was indeed true
[03:38]<PCdoc> heis powers were removed.
[03:38]<PCdoc> his *
[03:39]<PCdoc> after that guitar_man stopped talking to me .. after like 1 and half year he said "Hi PCdoc" and i was like wow!!
[03:39]<PCdoc> this was at the time of Druidicus_Pharoh
[03:40]<PCdoc> i dont know where did he go
[03:41]<PCdoc> wow BC_Programming .. do u have the link to that thread on driver scanner? ?:P
[03:41]<PCdoc> where u argued with lc
[03:41]<@BC_Programming> registry cleaner?
[03:41]<@BC_Programming> actually there might be one about Driver scanners, will have to do a search
[03:42]<PCdoc> the one u said u argued with lc
[03:43]<@BC_Programming> ahh ok
[03:43]<@BC_Programming> I think that came up a few times come to think of it
[03:45]<@BC_Programming> http://www.computerhope.com/forum/index.php/topic,107595.0.html
[03:47]<@BC_Programming> I could probably collect all the posts I've written on CH about Registry Cleaning into a MASSIVE blog post...
[03:47]<PCdoc> :D
[03:47]<@BC_Programming> practically a book, I had to go through 5 pages of results from the forum search of giant replies about Registry Cleaners
[03:53]<PCdoc> registery cleaners, i agree dont have wrong values or cant have incorrect values. but a local city based antivirus company has come up with c PCtuner from Quickheal Technologies. which i generally use, it removes invalid keys, or the keys that are left behind after removing a software or program.
[03:53]<@BC_Programming> Those don't actually effect anything, though
[03:54]<@BC_Programming> all they do is save disk space- a few KB with HD's that are millions of times that size isn't really worth the issues
[03:55]<@BC_Programming> I know because I was accidentally bitten by a Registry Cleaner during development
[03:55]<@BC_Programming> I had a program that stored some data in the registry, and it had one entry that was used to determine where it created a given file, so like "C:\whatever\createfile.txt" was the value
[03:56]<@BC_Programming> For whatever reason I ran a registry cleaner, and in the process I guess it saw that key, and couldn't find the file so determined it was "invalid" and removed it
[03:56]<@BC_Programming> causing me to waste 5 hours trying to track down a bug in my program that didn't exist
[03:56] * Nat (natman97@mib-642FCA28.socal.res.rr.com) Quit (Quit: zzzZZZzzzZZzzZZZzz)
[03:57]<@BC_Programming> Which is part of my point in some of the posts, a program cannot really determine what is and is not a "valid" key; something could <look> like a filename/path, but there is no way to know what that filename/path actually means. Most reg. cleaners assume that if the file it points to isn't there, that is a "registry error" or an "invalid key" but only the program that uses that key really
[03:57]<@BC_Programming> knows
[04:08]<PCdoc> may be .. i never use any reg cleaner ..
[04:09]<PCdoc> lol, a guy came to my store asking for serial mouse with that ball in the cavity. ppl are still using it and are not aware that it no longer exist in NEW ...
[04:10]<@BC_Programming> well they work :P
[04:10]<@BC_Programming> I only have a wireless mouse so when the batteries die I can't do much while I charge the batteries... I'd been pretty much borked for my desktop if the batteries weren't rechargable AAs
[04:11]<PCdoc> yeah but it used to be headache cleaning the rollers periodically amd banging the mouse repeatedly on the desk so that the stucked ball moves
[04:11]<@BC_Programming> oh yeah that's too true
[04:11]<@BC_Programming> so easy to forget that once you move to an optical mouse
[04:12]<PCdoc> i have a microsoft wireless mouse I recieved from Intel as a gift for being amonst first 30's to complete Intel promotional trainings
[04:13]<@BC_Programming> neat
[04:13]<@BC_Programming> they should send cool stuff to MVPs
[04:13]<@BC_Programming> well, more cool stuff
[04:14]<@BC_Programming> Trophy is cool and all but would be nice to have some piece of token equipment
[04:14]<@BC_Programming> Like I dunno a Surface Pro
[04:14]<@BC_Programming> lol
[04:15]<PCdoc> this is the i got http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/en-us/p/explorer-touch-mouse#details
[04:16]<@BC_Programming> neat
[04:18]<PCdoc> the scroll buttons are touch .. there's no visible scroll wheel
[04:18]<@BC_Programming> that would probably confuse me
[04:18]<PCdoc> when u roll ur finger over the greay button in the middle, u feel vibrations while rolling
[04:18]<PCdoc> grey *
[04:18]<PCdoc> up/down left/right
[04:19]<PCdoc> the center is for rolling and left and right mouse clicks, it has button .. comes with Duracells
[04:20]<@BC_Programming> ugh, still so much for me to learn about C#... It would be easier if MS stopped adding awesome features to the language
[04:21] * PCdoc is good with hardware .. software is like night tales which makes me sleep
[04:21]<PCdoc> :-s
[04:21]<PCdoc> feel sleepy ..
[04:21]<@BC_Programming> lol

[07:56]<@BC_Programming> GET MY GUN... we're going to chile
[08:27]<@Mulreay> Sick <censored>
[08:27]<@BC_Programming> my thoughts exactly
[08:29]<@BC_Programming> in other news, I like when people try to convince me to do things by saying that one of the previous maintainers/etc intended it to work a certain way
[08:29]<+camerongray> Sounds like rails...
[08:30]<+camerongray> "The reason it isn't working is you aren't doing it the rails way"
[08:30]<@BC_Programming> well sort of
[08:30]<@BC_Programming> in this case it's GriefPrevention, the original author hasn't worked on it in a long time and passed the project on to Tux
[08:31]<+camerongray> Ahh
[08:31]<@BC_Programming> In this case somebody is saying that Griefprevention allowing arrows to press open Wooden buttons is a "bug"
[08:31]<@BC_Programming> and I say it's intended
[08:31]<@BC_Programming> and then they say "but Ryan (the original author) filed this bug saying he wanted to stop it in his plugin"
[08:31]<@BC_Programming> That's nice, I don't see him writing the code!
[08:32]<+camerongray> lol!
[08:33]<@BC_Programming> I wanted to say
[08:33]<@BC_Programming> "ok, let's give it a few days, see if he turns up to address this" or something
[08:33]<@BC_Programming> but my response was more that "his intended features are not necessarily mine nor tux's intended features"
[08:35]<@BC_Programming> I need to remember to tell tux to add me to the project's bukkit rewards majigger

[13:58]<@Mulreay> There is a book with stories about incest, genocide, rape and crucifixion in almost every hotel room in the world.
[13:58]<@BC_Programming> the bible duh
[13:59]<@Mulreay> So glad you are hear to point that out.
[14:00]<@BC_Programming> np glad to help
[14:00]<@BC_Programming> I'm sure you'll agree that it just boggles the mind how people can actually call it "the good book" with a straight face
[14:01]<@Mulreay> I have a book on 'obvious moments' that I would like you to spend a moment telling the obvious to people in the forward
[14:01]<@Mulreay> jk
[14:02]<@BC_Programming> calling it "the good book" is sort of like calling Mein Kampf the Friendship book
[14:03]<@Mulreay> Or more 'Mein Kampf' stars on broadway call it the 'next big thing' and 'the one to watch out for'.
[14:03]<@BC_Programming> lol
[14:05]<@Mulreay> Need to run to the shop for stuff they sell.. be back in about 20mins
[14:06]<@BC_Programming> The New York Times has rated it 5 stars, for BEKÄMPFUNG DES JÜDISCH-MATERIALISTISCHEN GEIST IN UND OHNE UNS!
[14:16]<@Mulreay> back
[14:17]<@BC_Programming> wb
[14:17]<@Mulreay> thx
[14:17]<@BC_Programming> things got really busy in the channel when you were gone
[14:17]<@Mulreay> Old dear tending her garden at 21:00pm love these Isles
[14:19]<@BC_Programming> hmm security patrol guard $20/hr not bad
[14:19]<@Mulreay> lol BC_Programming
[14:19]<@Mulreay> Really want that BC_Programming?
[14:20]<@BC_Programming> Look I've been out of the job for over a year and if I don't get one soon I'll be homeless
[14:20]<@BC_Programming> at this point I really don't give a flying <censored> what it is as long as there is money involved
[14:20]<@Mulreay> look? Like I don't know?
[14:21]<@BC_Programming> eh sorry
[14:21]<@BC_Programming> really pissed off
[14:21]<@BC_Programming> not at you of course
[14:22]<@BC_Programming> just the fact that I never even seem to get any replies, I've even resorted to double-checking that I can actually receive E-mails by sending test mail lol
[14:25]<@Mulreay> Lying makes Jesus cry. Stealing makes Jesus cry. Jaywalking makes Jesus cry. A real <censored>, that kid.
[14:25]<Craig> Thats not true, who sent you that\
[14:25]<Craig> ?
[14:27]<@BC_Programming> that's like when people say "X makes the baby jesus cry"... lot's of stuff would... he's a baby after all.
[14:27]<Craig> hahhaha too true.
[14:29]<@Mulreay> Craig I was told that by a guy that likes to hate God
[14:29]<@Mulreay> just letting you know
[14:29]<Craig> Ahhh
[14:29]<@Mulreay> I think it was supposed to be ironic
[14:30]<Craig> Probably
[14:31]<@BC_Programming> hmm oh wow I got 2 cents from BASeCamp SurvivalChests... or, I got something like .68 of a reward point
[14:31]<@BC_Programming> now to wait for Tux to add me to the reward distribution of GriefPrevention, then I can be disappointed again
[14:32]<@BC_Programming> either disappointed or surprised. I hope surprised, but I would be surprised if I was surprised, which shouldn't be a surprise
[14:32]<@Mulreay> I'm surprised
[14:33]<@BC_Programming> not surprising
[14:37]<@Mulreay> haha my friend 'I know it's a bit short notice but if you want to watch Star Trek tomorrow then I can do it'
[14:37]<@BC_Programming> lol
[14:38]<@Mulreay> I'm so going tomnorrow
[14:38]<@Mulreay> I have too
[14:38]<@Mulreay> imax
[14:39]<@Mulreay> Hot dogs and stuff
[14:39]<@BC_Programming> Speaking of Star Trek Thanks to Ashens I can no longer not consider all the weapons to be vacuum cleaner attachments
[14:39]<@Mulreay> I want the hot dog
[14:39]<@BC_Programming> "Phasers on dust"
[14:39]<@Mulreay> lol
[14:40]<@Mulreay> have you seen this BC_Programming http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z5W8EBHNsLc
[14:42]<@BC_Programming> lol I like how that bit of music starts up and then stops
[14:43]<@Mulreay> lol yeah
[14:51]<+camerongray> BC_Programming: Didn't Craig used to do that?
[14:52]<@BC_Programming> uh do what
[14:52]<@BC_Programming> be surprised?
[14:52]<+camerongray> Security guard
[14:52]<@BC_Programming> I have no clue
[14:53]<@BC_Programming> this one is one of those outfits that basically watches over things like car dealerships and other properties
[14:53]<@BC_Programming> I know because they would always get coffee during the night where I used to work
[14:53]<+camerongray> That would be pretty easy, unlikely anything would happen :P
[14:54]<+camerongray> Smuggle in a laptop and do programming :P
[14:54]<@BC_Programming> no it's not a stationary job as I understand it
[14:54]<@BC_Programming> have to move between different properties,
[14:54]<+camerongray> Ahh
[14:55]<+camerongray> Still worth a go
[14:55]<@BC_Programming> from what I recall they were usually in groups of at least two, eg drive to a car dealer ship at one place, get out, hoof about and make sure nothing is amiss or worth reporting, go to some other place, etc.
[14:55]<+camerongray> That could be interesting
[14:56]<@BC_Programming> their application had this long series of questions
[14:56]<@BC_Programming> some sort of personality test
[14:56]<+camerongray> Ahh
[14:56]<@BC_Programming> took like a half hour lol
[14:56]<+camerongray> Ahh, so you applied?
[14:56]<@BC_Programming> yeah, sent cover letter and a modified copy of my resume
[14:57]<+camerongray> Sweet! Good luck
[14:57]<@BC_Programming> modified because half a page of my experience with C# isn't particularly useful
[14:57]<+camerongray> lol
[14:57]<@BC_Programming> I had to deal with some ruffians where I used to work
[14:57]<+camerongray> "As a computer guy, I'm experienced with being beaten up"
[14:57]<@BC_Programming> it was awesome
[14:58]<@BC_Programming> I impressed myself
[14:58]<+camerongray> lol
[14:58]<@BC_Programming> guy punches me in the face and I kinda take a step back.... then I punch him in the face- and he was like twice my size- and I knocked him on his ass
[14:58]<+camerongray> What happened>
[14:58]<@BC_Programming> THAT is a long story
[14:58]<+camerongray> hahaha!
[14:58]<@BC_Programming> he was drunk though
[14:58]<+camerongray> Ahh
[14:59]<@BC_Programming> hmm I seem to remember one guy pulled a knife on me, which somehow only scares me in hindsight...
[15:00]<@BC_Programming> and this is working in a freaking coffee and Donut shop
[15:00]<+camerongray> Ouch!
[15:00]<+camerongray> Then it turns out it was just one of the plastic ones on the counter
[15:02]<@BC_Programming> I'm probably remembering a lot wrong
[15:02]<+camerongray> lol
[15:02]<@BC_Programming> no doubt I mentioned it in the channel at the time
[15:02]<@BC_Programming> now I'm curious
[15:02]<+camerongray> He actually handed you a spoon that he found on the floor :P
[15:03]<+camerongray> Tried applying for other donut/coffee jobs?
[15:04]<@BC_Programming> I want to say "lol no" but I did
[15:04]<@BC_Programming> never heard back
[15:04]<+camerongray> Ahh
[15:04]<+camerongray> Keep trying, hopefully you'll find something
[15:04]<@BC_Programming> mostly because they were starting higher than I was making before at the other place
[15:04]<@BC_Programming> started at $8.75, when I left I was at $11.75
[15:04]<+camerongray> Ahh
[15:05]<@BC_Programming> when I started minimum wage was $8
[15:05]<+camerongray> You should come over here, a Krispy Kreme just opened in Edinburgh :P
[15:06]<+camerongray> Funny story actually - After it opened there were several days of traffic jams on the motorway leading up to it!
[15:06]<@BC_Programming> At this point I would prefer something that isn't food service. Actually I'd prefer something with as little customer interaction as possible
[15:06]<+camerongray> All the radio reports "There is a 20min delay on the M8 again due to the opening of a new donut shop at Hermiston Gait"
[15:07]<+camerongray> And the queue at the door actually went round the entire store and across the retail park! It was insane!
[15:08]<@BC_Programming> my favourite was when somebody would work on the graveyards that was from one of the other shifts
[15:08]<@BC_Programming> "it's easy, you never get customers"
[15:08]<@BC_Programming> 2AM, lineup out the door and cars line up around the building
[15:09]<+camerongray> lol
[15:09]<@BC_Programming> they were always confused because they were used to having an "assigned" place
[15:09]<@BC_Programming> and then we were doing all the places at once... Drive-thru would beep and any one of us would grab it all while doing other things lol
[15:10]<+camerongray> lol
[15:10]<@BC_Programming> But then management stopped... managing :(
[15:10]<+camerongray> Must be a challenge to get all the orders correct
[15:10]<@BC_Programming> it can be
[15:10]<+camerongray> Like you go to McDonalds, one person takes the order then other people start bringing the correct parts
[15:10]<+camerongray> KFC on the other hand...
[15:11]<+camerongray> I don't think I've ever had the correct order
[15:11]<+camerongray> "Pepsi with no ice" - Always get ice
[15:11]<+camerongray> "BBQ and Ketchup dips" so you get both BBQ
[15:11]<@BC_Programming> before they moved to a touchscreen I could use the old system almost as well as I could type lol
[15:11]<+camerongray> lol
[15:11]<+camerongray> KFC are hopeless :P
[15:12] * Nat (natman97@mib-642FCA28.socal.res.rr.com) Quit (Quit: All good things must come to an end. In fact so do the bad things. In fact everything will end eventually.)
[15:12]<+camerongray> And for some reason, they can't undersntand my accent
[15:12]<+camerongray> I have to give the damn order like 3 times
[15:12]<@BC_Programming> if it's D/T could be a crappy speaker
[15:12]<+camerongray> Nah, counter :P
[15:12]<@BC_Programming> oh gawd.... I suddenly remembered... people have the most HILARIOUS mispronunciations
[15:13]<+camerongray> lol!
[15:13]<@BC_Programming> Chicken Fajita... fah heat ahh....
[15:13]<@BC_Programming> they pronounce it
[15:13]<@BC_Programming> "fa jiht ahh"
[15:13]<+camerongray> BHAHAHA!
[15:13]<+camerongray> I can imagine that
[15:13]<@BC_Programming> I'd like a Chicken fa-jiht-a plz
[15:13]<+camerongray> Our old computing teacher...
[15:13]<+camerongray> "Analysists"
[15:13]<@BC_Programming> and of course everybody wearing a D/T headset is holding in laughter
[15:13]<+camerongray> "Hierarchy" was "Hiracky"
[15:14]<+camerongray> "Hierarchical" was "Hirackical"
[15:14]<+camerongray> I remember once in KFC, I swear she was drunk...
[15:15]<+camerongray> Said my order, waited like 10 seconds while she just stared at me
[15:15]<@BC_Programming> could just be stupid
[15:15]<+camerongray> Then studdenly woke up "Sorry, was away in a dream, what did you want"
[15:15]<+camerongray> Then had to repeat each answer to the several questions like 3 times
[15:15]<@BC_Programming> I liked the "I gave you a larger bill!" scammers
[15:16]<+camerongray> Ahh yeah, I can imagine that
[15:16]<@BC_Programming> "I gave you a 20!"
[15:16]<@BC_Programming> "well, that's weird, because I'm still holding the 10 you gave me..."
[15:16]<+camerongray> hahaha!
[15:16]<@BC_Programming> and then I would confuse them, because I would never use the change button
[15:16]<+camerongray> I remember McDonalds gave me change for a 20 when I gave them a 5
[15:16]<+camerongray> But I was nice so I went back :P

[18:55]<@Mulreay> Going watching Star Trek tomorrow with a mate
[18:55]<@Mulreay> IMAX 3D... so excited
[18:58]<jamer> i get bored too easily
[18:59]<@BC_Programming> I in the meantime just wasted 6 hours of my life completely destroying my working copy of GriefPrevention
[19:00]<@Mulreay> How so?
[19:00]<@BC_Programming> First i added several very useful new features, about 6 hours of work
[19:01]<@BC_Programming> then I basically redid a whole bunch of configuration stuff without commiting it the repository
[19:01]<@BC_Programming> Basically consider the repository a savestate
[19:01]<@Mulreay> You bastard, how very dare you
[19:02]<@BC_Programming> So I can either try to manually get things working back as they were before, or I can rollback and reimplement every single thing I've changed since

[19:06]<jamer> i made that ... and its a full plane inside and out
[19:06]<@Mulreay> nice
[19:06]<jamer> i got bored .... real bored
[19:07]<@Mulreay> Look how bored I am http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oc5gusGgMrI

[19:07]<@BC_Programming> that's on Tux2's server in the PvP world
[19:08]<jamer> our server is only a day old now and we built that half a welcome center
[19:23]<@Mulreay> YouTube seems to be having a brain fart.. videos are taking for ever to monetize
[19:46]<@Mulreay> Time is money. Money talks. So time talks. But talk is cheap. So time is cheap. But time is money. So money is cheap. Which it's not.
[19:57]<@Mulreay> The harder you believe in something, the nothinger of a difference it makes.
[20:04]<@Mulreay> In America it's 'humor'. In England it's 'humour'. In Germany it's 'unheard-of'.
[20:11]<@Mulreay> Be careful what you pray for: you just might get it. Kidding! You won't get it.
